Your trip is literally a lasso shaped chunk of north west Namibia, encompassing vast sand dunes, a punishing desert and the desolate coastline of the Skeleton Coast. Taking to the skies you’ll have a sense of enormity. Plus you’ll get a healthy dose of wildlife thrown in. You’ll wander through one of Earth’s last remaining wilderness areas, perhaps running into a herd of desert-adapted elephants before finishing your trip in Etosha National Park. This great park has floodlit waterholes and is home to 114 species.

Tour Details

Situated in the marshy Okavango Delta, Chobe National Park is perhaps the most biologically diverse and balanced park in all of Botswana. Stay in the heart of it all in our superb Chobe safari lodges. The concentration of wildlife here is simply astonishing: the vast herds of elephant often contain more than 500, buffalo and zebra herds roam freely close by, the Chobe bushbuck makes regular appearances and the shaggy golden-yellow coat and short thick horns of the puku can regularly be seen.

Naturally this amount of game attracts many predators too and our specialist guides will be on hand to place you in the best spots to watch them prowl or laze at leisure.

DAY 8 OKAVANGO DELTA | PREDATOR CAPITAL

Fly across the Okavango Delta to your next amazing safari camp. Widely acknowledged as the “Predator Capital of the World,” this area of the Delta offers some of the most exciting game viewing in Africa and is one of the best places in Botswana to see the Big Five — lion, leopard, rhino, elephant and Cape buffalo — drawn here from surrounding regions by the lush delta. Predators include cheetahs, spotted hyenas and, at the very top of the food chain, large resident prides of lions. This afternoon, take advantage of game-viewing activities led by experienced guides or enjoy the vistas from your own private viewing deck.

In season, enjoy a mokoro ride for a rare safari opportunity across deceptively quiet marshlands alive with crocodiles, bathing hippos, birds and tiny red reed frogs. If you opt for an afternoon game drive, listen for roaring lions on the hunt or spy nocturnal animals as they start out for the night. After a full day of game viewing, return to your camp to relax.
