Our Mission
We aim to uplift the economically disadvantaged local communities of the destinations we travel to. Our effective and holistic projects are aimed at addressing the different needs of the different local communities. These projects are managed with integrity so that the community receives maximum benefit and the donors receive maximum satisfaction. We channel 100 percent of every donation directly to the local schools and communities and we are proud of the small steps we have taken so far. With every travel you book with us, we make a committment to any project in the area where your tour ran.
Uplifting Local Communities
Our community projects are designed to create sustainable economic activities. We work with women in a bid to address the socio-economic segregation that exists in the local communities. Among others, below are some of our project
GARDENS
Provide women with the tools to grow crops that she will not only feed her household but the whole community at large. Establishing garden projects goes a long way toward addressing the issue of malnutrition in rural areas.
POULTRY
When determined and like minded people with a common vision work together, change can and will happen. Poultry projects can support several families or entire schools. Families can generate income to provide necessary school fees for their children as well as other essential needs. Projects such as this, can also provide participants with marketable skills by teaching poultry rearing skills.
SEWING
These projects make school uniforms which they sell to the local schools. This creates a sustainable source of revenue that benefits the entire community.
Schools Development
At Local Safaris Africa, we believe that education is power. We believe that the only way communities can develop is through education of the locals. Because of that, we have various school development projects which either facilitates education, improves the quality of education and afford education to kids from disadvantaged backgrounds.
- To provide a structure for partnered organisations to fill the needs observed through the interaction with students and teachers in local schools.
- To assist feeding programmes through the provision of pre-cooked nutritious meals, clothing and food parcels for their distribution programmes.
- To promote community awareness of the needs within our communities, not only by encouraging the participation of the public but also encouraging the community itself to take ownership of their community and responsibility of the needs within.
