Itinerary

Day 1Nairobi Airport - Giraffe Manor Hotel

Breakfast on the list: RESERVE A ROOM AT Giraffe Manor

HOW TO GET THERE When you arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, we’ll pick you up and take you to Giraffe Manor in the lush Langata neighborhood of Nairobi for a delectable three-course meal.

EXPERIENCE In the hotel’s grounds, a tower of Rothschild’s giraffes reside in this traditional ivy-covered manor house. For hand-feeding them, the spacious porch and patio are ideal. We encourage you to visit the Giraffe Centre, which is housed on the grounds of Giraffe Manor and is home to a breeding and conservation program for giraffes. There are many things to do in this area, such as visiting the Karen Blixen Museum, which is devoted to the famous Danish explorer, and the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, where you can meet orphaned animals.

Day 2Nairobi Optional Excursions

Nairobi and Giraffe Manor

Enjoy your stay at The Safari Collection’s upscale boutique hotel, Giraffe Manor. Giraffe Manor, often referred to as one of the most Instagrammed residences in the world, is situated in 140 acres of native forest on 12 acres of private land in the Langata neighborhood of Nairobi. Upon arrival, explore Nairobi.

Culture & the Arts

Nairobi doesn’t compare to New York City or London, but it does provide a variety of possibilities to experience performing arts, art, sports, and local culture. For information on nearby events, activities, and performances while you are visiting, ask your guide or look in the local media or online (at sites like Nairobi Now and Up Nairobi). Some of Nairobi’s most well-liked cultural attractions are listed below.

House of African Heritage

The house, which is a fusion of mud constructions from all across Africa, was created by American Alan Donovan, co-founder of the African Heritage Pan African Galleries, and overlooks Nairobi National Park. You can arrange for tours, food, and lodging.

Kenyan Bomas

A tourist hamlet where you can experience living customs, crafts, music, and dancing to learn more about traditional Kenyan culture.

City Tour

The best way to get to know more about a city is to take a guided walking or driving tour. While we did not get a chance to do this, our driver highly recommended this and said the views of the city center in the evening are quite nice. If you are looking for great sweeping views of the city, you might want to plan a stop at the 28-story Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC). On most days, for a few shillings, the security guard will escort you in an elevator to the top floor where you’ll be treated to amazing city views (there is a revolving restaurant here but it is was closed during our visit)

Museum of Karen Blixen

The renowned residence and grounds of Danish author and coffee grower Karen Blixen are open for tours. The home has been turned into a museum, and the exterior was also utilized in the movie adaptation of Karen Blixen’s best-selling book Out of Africa.

Residence: Giraffe Manor (Luxury Lodge, Nairobi)

Food & Beverages: None

Day 3 & 4Sala’s Camp, Masai Mara, Fly to experience the Great Migration Safari

HOW TO GET THERE We’ll take you to Wilson Airport after breakfast so you can catch your trip to the Masai Mara. After arriving, you’ll travel to Sala’s Camp after a brief game drive.

SAFARI MASAI MARA

From the time you arrive at Sala’s Camp, your Masai Mara safari will start. It is in one of the nicest spots in the Masai Mara National Reserve as a whole. It is tucked away and private at the southernmost point of the reserve along the Sand River’s tree-lined banks. As a result, it is less than two kilometers from the Tanzanian border and benefits from amazing views of the Serengeti National Park as well as a magnificent wild vista. Additionally, this indicates that it is among the first camps in the Mara to see the fabled yearly wildebeest migration, which passes through the area from June to September every year. Sala’s game drives never let you down thanks to the abundant wildlife all year round. Discover some of the species and beauty you can look forward to seeing on your Masai Mara safari as well as the lovely camp you will be staying in to get pumped. Magical memories are created over sundowners on the savannah and breakfasts cooked outside. The scenery is amazing, the birdlife is astonishing, and the sensation of being completely immersed in nature are unmatched.

Accommodation: Salas’ Luxury Camp, Maasai Mara NP

Meals & Drinks: All meals and Drinks included

What the Lodge Is

Up to 18 people may stay at Sala’s Camp, our Masai Mara tented camp, in seven roomy tents. Two family suites and two secluded honeymoon tents are among the accommodations. In addition to a fantastic safari experience, Sala’s Camp offers room, comfort, and serene views of the surrounding environment. The first time Sala’s Camp became a Masai Mara tented camp in 2006, guests slept in conventional safari-style pop-up tents with bucket showers. Being completely surrounded by nature was a big draw. All of our rooms had renovations in 2016 and 2017 that included modern accents and tasteful décor. It was crucial to keep the atmosphere of a “under canvas” mobile safari, and visitors still get a sense of seclusion amid the wilderness.

Day 5 & 6Fly to Serengeti, Olakira Migration Camp Experience

Visiting Serengeti National Park for a migration safari by air

For your migratory safari, RESIDE AT Olakira Camp in the Southern Serengeti.

HOW TO GET THERE You will be given a packed lunch from the camp before being driven to the Keekorok airfield for your flight to Migori after breakfast. You can get to Tarime from Migori by taking a road transfer across the Kenya–Tanzania border. You will take a flight from Tarime to Ndutu in the Serengeti.

EXPERIENCE The yearly Great Migration is the holy grail of safari enthusiasts, and the Serengeti National Park has two prime locations to view it. Two camps make up Olakira Camp, each of which is situated to track the migration. Every year, in order to provide the best viewing chances, the camp relocates from the Mara River to the plains of Ndutu.

Accomodation: Olakira Camp, Southern Serengeti

All meals and beverages are provided.

Experience in the Olakira Migration Camp

The Olakira Migration Camp offers the closest view of the action by following the migration year-round. The canvas tents are intended to disappear into the surrounding vegetation, yet we don’t skimp on amenities. From the dining tent, take in the expansive plains of the Serengeti or the Ndutu region, or spend a peaceful afternoon in a chair watching zebras or Thomson’s gazelles graze. Dinner is served outside under the stars after dark.

meals and glasses of drink

We purchase our organic ingredients from nearby farms to create a menu of healthy, delectable dishes. Start the day with a full English breakfast or a continental buffet. The light lunch buffet has handmade bread and seasonal salads. A three-course meal is offered for dinner, either in the dining tent or outside beneath the stars.

Day 7Fly to Nairobi Airport, Farewell East Africa

The time of your international return flight will influence your departure time. After taking a flight to Wilson Airport, travel to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.

Jomo Kenyatta International Airport is the main destination.
